There are many ministries that will allow you to serve at St. David’s!  It takes many people doing many jobs to help St. David’s spread the word within and without our walls!  Below are ministries to which you may feel called.

Care Ministry

The Care Ministry extends the love and grace of Christ to people in need and want, particularly showing concern and care for those who are homebound, hospitalized, recovering or distressed.

Card Ministry
Sends greeting cards to homebound  members on a regular basis.

Prayer Chain
Members of the prayer chain pray daily for those on the prayer list. To add somebody to the prayer list, please contact Louise Marvin or call the office at 785-272-5144.

Eucharistic and Pastoral Visits
Provides visits to our homebound members by trained volunteers upon request.

This group meets during the regular school year on Sundays with varying topics.

Daughters of the King

Education for Ministry (EfM)
EfM is a four-year program in theological reflection based upon small-group study and practice.  EfM helps the faithful encounter the breadth and depth of the Christian tradition and bring it into conversation with their experiences of the world as they study,worship, and engage in theological reflection together.

Lenten Study

Men’s Thursday Study Group
This group meets every Thursday morning at about 7:00 A.M. for study of scripture and other studies, along with plain old good fellowship.

This group meets every Tuesday at noon in the conference room for fellowship and Bible study.

Visitor Welcoming
The Welcoming ministry greets every guest as someone who may be on a search to find a a place of love, of acceptance, of connection, and eventually, a place of worship.  These parish members are often the front line of a guest’s encounter with the church!

Inreach Ministry

The Inreach Ministry’s mission is to insure that parishioners have opportunities to care for one another, share with each other and continue their spiritual journey.

Sunday Breakfast
A full hot breakfast, including eggs, hash browns, sausage, bacon, breakfast pizza, breakfast burritos, biscuits and gravy, cereal, toast, and pop-tarts is served most Sundays from 8:30 A.M.  through 10:15 A.M.

Outreach Ministry

The Outreach Ministry reaches out to those outside the parish, bringing the love and grace of Christ to people in need and want.

Doorstep
St. David’s has a long history of working with Doorstep, Inc.  We man their clothing room and food pantry, provide seasonal clothing, as well as provide various food items and/or supplies that rotate throughout the year.

Rector’s Pantry
The Rector’s pantry provides food staples and other household necessities such as paper goods, diapers, etc. to those in need.  It is replenished by parish members on the fifth Sunday of the month.

Relay for Life

Summer Lunch Program
A program where St. David’s serves as a site for lunches while school is out, with U.S.D. 501 as our sponsor.  We also provide activities and books for those children participating.
